I try to make a point of asking about my weaknesses during my annual and semiannual reviews and I've noticed that you really need to build up a certain level of trust between you and your boss to get them to really open up and tell you specifically what you're doing bad. I think most people like to give positive feedback, but fear the reprecussions of negative feedback. Great point. I think as a new employee, you are constantly being monitored to make sure that you're a right fit for the company.
