I just read this Wall Street Journal article entitled New Grads are Impatient for Promotions.
It talks about how young professionals are dissatisfied with their work environment. Many don’t see the results of their efforts immediately, causing them to view their work as mundane and meaningless.
I found the article to be quite interesting. It alludes to why many young adults decide to venture into entrepreneurship. Working for someone else without the ability to use your creativity sucks. I think more and more young adults don’t want to feel like a drone in their work environment and hope that doing their own thing will not only provide job satisfaction, but a decent living.

1I’ve been with my company for just over two years now and I am sick of it.

2I’ve been at my job more than a year and like Jason completely sick of it. My boss changed his mind after 6 months – no opportunity for growth and wants me to keep doing my mindless boring job.
My friend said I have to pay my dues … one of my coworkers said another girl in my position stayed five years before moving to another company with a bigger role. Seriously five years before taking on a bigger role? That’s just ridiculous. If I stayed five years at 30K a year with the 2 percent raise, I’d never get anywhere.
