I agree with Leonid - it will not work in the long run - and this guy Jon WarASS is going to be the most hated person in the blogsphere

ever since this came out there has been so many post about this service and how it can kill authority of a writer and the blog, which I can find true if they decided to use the service

I'm not quite sure how I feel about buyblogcomments.com. However, over at www.mturk.com people can work on a job (known as a "hit" on the site) that involves commenting on a blog and getting paid 5-10 cents for it. The comment must follow specific criteria (length, relevance, etc) before you are paid. I think this method of drumming up blog comments is helpful for the blog, though, because the commentors are being driven to your site and you have the potential to get a new reader! With buyblogcomments.com the potential to (directly) influence people to read your blog is slim. Yes every blogger would like more comments on their blog, but you would HOPE that bloggers would rather have more READERS than potential revenue. After all, that is the point of blogging, isn't it?

(PS - Dennis, thanks for your kind words on my blog, I'm glad to have found yours as well!)

Good idea? Yes. Will it work in the long run? Probably not. Do I think it should be used? No.

People should be commenting for the sake of getting their voice heard, their interest in the subject and their outright passion for whatever it is they are commenting about.

"Buying" comments is selling out.
