Gee, I hope people actually read my blog and are willing to comment. I have an idea and I need some feedback (positive and negative, please!).
I’m thinking about creating a blog about bloggers. Sounds stupid? Maybe…
The idea comes from me visiting several blogs a day. Who needs television, right? haha. When I visit these blogs, one of the first things I do is check out the About page. I like to know some background information about the blogger and the purpose of their website. Usually, if their background information aligns well with me, I bookmark their site. Generally, I like to read about people managing their finances, college students, and recent graduates.
Just the other day, I thought to myself “Wouldn’t it be neat if I could read about this all in one place?” Eureka! (I think.) In many ways, it is similar to MyBlogLog and other Blogging networks in that profiles about bloggers are available. However, I am more interested in the history of the blogger, their success, and why they’re blogging. And when it comes to interview type information, I prefer it be presented in article format, rather than question-answer format (that annoys me).
Then I thought, are there other similar ideas to what I’m thinking? Well yeah. Mashable is a blog about social networks, Techcrunch is a blog about Startups, and… perhaps more similar… People magazine is a publication about People!
I registered a domain yesterday, which will add a little bonus to my idea. Am I on to something? Or is this just another bad idea?
I think I’m on to something…

1This actually is a pretty good idea, especially if you conduct some type of interviews, even though you would be putting them into an article and summarizing them. Asking certain successful blogs some questions and posting them, definitely will give you some good content sharing stories of success and failure.
Also sometimes you just want to know..Who the hell is writing this blog??

2I think you’re on to something. Sounds like a really neat idea if you ask me. I’m always on the lookout for more blogs to read and add to Google Reader and a site like that could be just the place to find them. Like you, I love reading everyone’s “About” pages and a site that would basically bring blogger’s “about” pages together would be an interesting read. Would allow you find others with similar backgrounds and goals. Good Luck

3Sounds interesting. Basically, you are talking about a blog that profiles bloggers. Basically gathering information from different bloggers sites (about pages) and from direct contact with them. I like the idea of being able to go to one site, go into a category of choosing (say student entrepreneurs) and have an ever growing list of profiles for student entrepreneur blogs. It then gives you an opportunity to read about different blogs from one site instead of searching all around. I like it.

4Yeah sounds like a good idea because people looking to read about blogger will be interested in your site and blogger will be to advertise. Thanks for the link to my blog by the way. I add a link back to you.

5I think that you should keep it simple. Really simple. Create a directory / network of “about” information of bloggers, then alongside of that list comments from each blogger showcasing their blogging experiences (and allow them to edit it / allow other people to make notes). Sort of like a wikipedia of blog authors.
Best,

6I quite like that idea, I’d definately sign up, and perhaps It could encourage people to tell me more about themselves.

7Eureka is right. The only thing is, won’t some bloggers who your blogging about be offended by this? Na, of course not! It’s free traffic. I think it’s a good idea but would be hard to market, plus you have all the Blog top-lists to compete with and the directories.
Best of luck!

8Speaking as a blogger, I think it would be a good idea since if it took off and got traffic you’d have bloggers lining up to get covered. The only negative would be if you’re going to try to compete with ProBlogger or other “the business of blogging” sites. That area’s a little crowded. But it’s an intriguing idea - are you sure nobody else is writing that?

9That sounds like a new, nifty idea! i like it. In fact, I would volunteer to be one of your guinea pigs, lol.
But seriously it’ll be nice to know what got people to blog in the first place. Do they just like to write? Do they find support on the web? etc.

10That’s a GREAT idea. I remember back in the hayday of personal cam sites there was a site called internetgossip that used to do that with all the cam girls.
