About
Welcome to Pro Money Blog, formerly Young Money Blog! My name is Dennis and I am a graduate of the
Here’s some background information about me. I was born and raised in Florida to Asian American immigrants. My family is very blue collar and I consider our household to be lower-middle class. Thanks to Florida’s Bright Future’s scholarship, I received a 100% tuition to attend the University of Florida. The school’s value was excellent and I didn’t want the financial burden of an out-of-state school to strain my family. Thus, I became a Florida Gator in the fall of 2002.
During college, I was heavily involved in student organizations. I consider my involvement a defining characteristic in my life. It has shaped my interpersonal skills and helped develop my leadership. I was able to interact with many people, including famous celebrities thanks to my involvement. All of which have shaped my perspective on life.
My entrepreneurial ventures began late in my college career. In retrospect, I wish I started my businesses much earlier… this is one of my college regrets. The most notable venture is One Greek Store which I started with two fraternity brothers in June of 2006. The business has been very successful and continues to prosper today. Additionally, I am working on Business Development and Marketing for a very small internet startup that plans to enter the social search arena. Whether or not this venture will be successful is yet to be seen.
After graduation, I was offered an amazing opportunity that I could not resist. Although I had originally intended to work on my own companies, the offers I received provided with an even more lucrative career path. In particular, I expect to formally learn more about business operations in my new position. In the mean time, I plan to remain as involved with my ventures as reasonably possible.
